all work and no play

So I got a job and started work. Woo! I'm assistant manager in a two person office. It's quite weird, sometimes boring, but easy work. It'll pay the bills once I finally get a pay check. I don't mind it and it's only temporary.

This past weekend Maggie, Aleks, Will, and I went up to Mt. Lemmon with some friends (Seth, Jill, and kids) to go camping. Did you know that in the hour long drive to the campsite we dropped about 20 degrees. God bless elevation. It was a miracle to get out of the city and the 104 degree weather. We got up to the campsite and were in the midst of trees, the scent of pine, and rain! I had to get my jacket at one point because the cloud overhead was crying a little bit and I got chilly. It's amazing how warm it actually is when I get chilly these days. It appears I've really gotten used to the heat because 90 degrees feels comfortable and 78 is chilly.

It was little kid central with a 3 year old (Seth and Jill's daughter), a 2 year old (Will), and a 10 week old (S&J's son). We just camped for one night but it was enough time to make hotdogs and s'mores. I got to test out my new tent - awesome! I had a really great time just sitting by the fire and entertaining the little ones. What a great escape.

Since then it's been pretty much just working and working out. I went to a poker night with Aleks and some other astronomy guys on Monday night. Sounds odd but it was nice to be part of a group of guys again. It was a good reminder that I don't have to be lame and stay at home every night even though I'm working full time.

That's really all for now. More later when I have time to think about rad things.
