Anyway, Jo drove the first leg, about 2 hours to a rest stop on the PA turnpike past Harrisburg. I was ready for a cup of coffee as we had been driving through cloudy and rainy weather. I ordered two large coffees for us and we were both pretty excited. However, the coffee was mega-burned and tasted as Jo accurately described "like burnt marshmallows". Except the coffee wasn't as delicious as burnt marshmallows can sometimes be.
After driving through a lot of rain and fog (especially around the Blue Mountain area) we stopped for a quick lunch. Car games started to emerge and we had a good time. We drove on Route 70 which took us on a brief tour of the thinnest portion of West Virginia and eventually into Ohio.
We're currently sitting in our campsite in Buckeye Lake, about 30 miles outside of Columbus...yes they have wireless internet here. We were very pleased to find a NICE pool on a gorgeous day, but we first took a drive down to the lake. Turns out it's a pretty nasty lake and nothing that we wanted to swim in. We took a quick look around, but it smelled like fish and goose poop. No fun. So, we came back to the site, got changed, and went to the pool. The water was PERFECT and Jo and I instantly resorted back to our 12 year old ways and began playing ridiculous pool games and showing off our "tricks." I'm pretty sure a handstand in the pool will always be something to brag about.
We checked out the enormous checker and chess boards they have here. They're almost life size. Awesome and unnecessary.
We just came back to the site to eat some dinner and check email and what not. We're going to head right back to the pool and absorb the rest of this sunlight.
That's all for now!
